Message Today we got around to start stripping my Z down and to get to see underneath it as to what was destroyed and what survived. Definitely some interesting things to look at.
Some of these shots are not so great, I had a camera I was not familiar with today so my apologies.

First off, Tim was elected to drive the car into the garage. Yes, I did say drive...the engine does still run. Notice this picture though, Tim is not sitting up high in the seat at all. Now try to imagine that I am about 5-6 inches taller than him. LOW BRIDGE! You can also see where the roll bar was pinched due to the impact from the side

Car finally on the rack

Test pipes & resonators crushed

Joe, although your shield survived it certainly got banged up. Bravo buddy on a great product!

Driver side lower control arm

This is looking from the front of the car looking backwards down the transmission tunnel. Notice the folding

Wish this picture turned out better. That bolt you see there is actually the seat bracket that punctured and showing through the bottom of the car

The two tabs you see in the upper middle are supposed to be parallel (along with some other damage)

This is looking up directly under the impact site. You can see were the top of the base of the pole hit and tore right through the sheet metal

Another shot of the bottom of the car at the body

Driver's side intercooler was crushed like an accordion

Along with a nice puncture

The crushed resonators and test pipes again

As you can see here, the driver's side subframe actually got rolled under

Probably the cleanest part of the car right now

Overall as bad as these pictures are, quite a bit more survived than what I thought would. We have about 2-4 more days worth of stripping to do. Haven't touched the interior yet and not looking forward to it with all the glass thrown about.

I should be having some items up for sale soon so keep a look out for a classified ad.

Hope everyone is having a fun and safe holiday weekend!

Randy
